【University Introduction】

Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) is a national key university with Chinese medicine as its main subject. It is directly under the management of the Ministry of Education and jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing Municipal Government. Founded in 1956, the university is a national “211 Project” key construction university and a national “985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform” construction university. Three disciplines of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and Chinese Materia Medica were selected into the list of national "double first-class" construction disciplines.

In the long-term education practice, the university adheres to the school motto of "diligence, embracing, kindness, healing". 【Background of the Program】

In order to give full play to the characteristic advantages of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, enhance the school's social service capabilities, and meet the demand for high-level TCM education in China and abroad under the background of COVID-19, the Department of Continuing Education of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine launched the "Excellent Training Program - Traditional Chinese Medicine Global Open Lectures". Relying on the high-quality faculty resources of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the program is committed to providing high-quality, efficient, personalized and ubiquitous open courses for BUCM’s domestic and international students, partners and alumni. The course will give full play to the important role of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in lifelong learning of Traditional Chinese Medicine globally.

This program plans to invite top teachers and experts with rich teaching and clinical experience from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine to give lectures. 1.Modern clinical application of TCM classics (2 sessions)

【Program features】

1.Adhering to the education principle of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, "inheriting the essence of tradition while innovating", integrating the high-quality teaching resources of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the International Alliance for Chinese Medicine Education, incorporating bilingual courses in Chinese and English.

2.Returning to the essence of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the program takes the TCM classics as the theoretical basis of the project, and designs a system with clinical application as the core, so as to improve the level of learners' clinical skills of traditional Chinese medicine, promote the healthy development of global TCM education and training from the root.

3.The program pays attention to social benefits, and serves the global TCM practitioners free of charge. By recruiting students from all over the world through the International Alliance for Chinese Medicine Education, the university gives full play to its function as a higher education institution to serve the society.

4.The program includes Chinese and English courses, providing online live teaching for the whole world. The program adopts a combination of live streaming and recorded classes, breaking the time and space constraints, solving the contradiction between work and continuous learning, maximizing the advantages of online learning.

【Class schedule】

1. Training form:

This program is carried out in the form of live streaming + recording. The training platform is the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine distance learning system (for Chinese class) and the ZOOM conference system (for English class).

2. Training time:

This program has a total of 32 class hours. From June 2022 to January 2023, the students will take 1-2 classes per month, 90 minutes each time (2 class hours), 8-16 classes in total. The time arrangement will be notified in detail at least 2 weeks before the start of the course.

The live replay is open all day during the training and within one month after the training. The students can watch the course video through the online platform provided by the school.
